According
to TikTok trends data, over the last four months, TikTok’s No. 1 trending travel hashtag has been #beach,
with the other top five trending terms including #vacation, #beachvibes,
#hiking and #roadtrip.
#Beach takes the prize with 13 million posts and over
97 billion views worldwide. In the United States alone, #beach has earned
665,000 posts and 4 billion views. Travelers across the world are swimming to
the shore in waves, and Gen Z is turning the tide – 61 percent of audiences
viewing videos tagged with #beach are between the ages of 18-24.
From
beaches to hiking destinations, where are these Gen Z globetrotters headed?
Break
at the Beach: Greece
#Beach
is trending the fastest in Greece – nearly five times
faster, in fact, compared to the worldwide average usage of the term. TikTok
travelers are associating Greece with photography and romance – and 60 percent
of them are ages 18 to 24.
Steps
away from the sand, Lindian Village Beach Resort Rhodes, Curio Collection by Hilton,
is a Grecian oasis that boasts private beach access with cabanas and the Yummy
Food Truck. The dreamy, earth-toned rooms are fitted with a rainforest shower,
organic bath amenities and lush robes. Choose a suite as your sanctuary and
you’ll even find your own private freshwater pool or jetted hot tub hideaway.
For guests feeling well-rested and ready to seek out the sun again, the resort
offers a wealth of watersports – including waterskiing, wakeboarding, standup
paddle boarding, and catamaran day trips.
City-Centric
and Photogenic: Mexico
Other
coveted castaways include Mexico, which in the past 120 days alone has generated 42,000 posts
and 557 million views with #beach. 75 percent of viewership is between the ages
of 18 to 24 and top associated terms include scenery and photography.
Gen
Z guests seeking a city-centric, photogenic place to stay can find home
at Motto by Hilton Tulum, which offers cozy, chic stays with
options ranging from suites to rooms with bunks, offering flexibility and
adventure rolled into one. Add in two rooftop pools, beach club access, jungle
views, and bike rentals, and Motto by Hilton Tulum is a trend-worthy place to
rest your head – or film your next viral video.
For
arts and culture enthusiasts, guests can visit Umbral,
Curio Collection by Hilton, which brings Mexico City’s culture to life from
the comfort of the property. Over 100 pieces of art created by young artists
decorate the walls, a mini cinema provides in-house entertainment, the
chocolateria satisfies every guest’s cravings and the hotel’s book and vinyl
record library ensure guests enjoy an enriching and educational stay.
For
Thrill-Chasers and Content-Makers: Zion, Utah
For
those seeking a more active adventure, #hiking is next on the list, boasting 631,000 posts
and 4 billion views globally in the last 120 days. Zion, Utah, home to Zion
National Park, is a have-to-visit haven for wilderness wanderers.
Nature
nomads can settle down after a day of adventure in an Airstream suite or cabin
at AutoCamp Zion, just under 20 minutes from Zion
National Park. Guests can enjoy an all-season pool and river access, onsite
activities like stargazing and mountain biking, and even curated art
installations to reflect the rock formations surrounding the property.
For
even more ways to stay, nestled at the edge of the Virgin River and five
minutes from Zion Canyon is the historic Cliffrose Springdale, Curio Collection by Hilton. A free
local shuttle takes guests directly to the Zion National Park Visitor Center so
not a single moment of adventure is wasted.
After
a long day of crawling through canyons and conquering Angel’s Landing, this
boutique property offers opportunities to create content around every corner.
Rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows offer the perfect backdrop (and lighting),
heated outdoor pools and hot tubs are available year-round, and local dining is
