May bank holidays: discover Europe spontaneously with Eurowings

Spontaneously travelling to Copenhagen, Vienna or Verona? The May bank holidays are just around the corner, allowing up to three long weekends in many parts of Germany - ideal for a spontaneous trip within Europe. Eurowings also offers cheap tickets at short notice to discover exciting metropolises or less bustling cities and regions. Those who also love a surprise moment can once again opt for the blind booking option with Germany's largest holiday airline: Simply enter the date, departure airport and travel preference and find out where the trip is going at the end of the process - the adventure begins as soon as you book. For those who prefer to take the choice into their own hands, here are a few offers for return flights from the major German Eurowings bases.

From Berlin

Want to spontaneously discover Sweden's second largest city? Over 1 May you can travel to Gothenburg from around 130 euros. For an extended Father's Day weekend (which falls on Ascension Day this year), the Danish capital of Copenhagen is a good option from around 175 euros from Berlin. If the following weekend (Whitsun) suits you better, Vienna is calling from around 150 euros.

From Dusseldorf

Eurowings is offering flights to the trendy British metropolis of Birmingham from Dusseldorf from around 210 euros over the 1st May bank holiday. Spontaneous travellers can discover the beach and metropolis of Barcelona over Ascension Day from 225 euros. Over Whitsun, guests can fly to Vienna from around 270 euros.

From Hamburg

If you want to enjoy spring on the Côte d'Azur, you can fly from Hamburg to Nice over 1 May for as little as 140 euros. Heading north, you can fly to the Norwegian capital Oslo over the extended Father's Day weekend from 220 euros. Travelling to Styria with Graz as the starting point for Whitsun starts from just 210 euros.

From Cologne

Italian city flair or rather Lake Garda - both are possible if the destination airport is Verona: over 1 May from Cologne from as little as 160 euros. Breathe in the capital city atmosphere in Tirana (Albania) on the following Ascension Day weekend from just 120 euros. And if you want to combine the lake and the city in one, we recommend Zurich over the Whitsun weekend from 135 euros.

From Stuttgart

Spring in probably the most romantic city in Italy: Eurowings takes lovers and everyone else from Stuttgart to Venice from as little as 115 euros over 1 May. Those who prefer to get to know the latest fashion trends can do so in Milan over Ascension Day from as little as 220 euros. The historic industrial metropolis of Manchester offers a contrasting programme, which can be reached with Eurowings from around 210 euros on Whitsun weekend.

All prices quoted are for a return flight on the Basic fare. Prices determined on 25 April 2024.
